Marvel Studios Hall H Predictions For San Diego Comic Con! (2024)

Later this month, Marvel Studios is going to return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con for a major presentation on Saturday, 27th July 2024, which will run for an hour from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm PDT.

According to the official description of the panel, MarvelStudios president and producer KevinFeige and special guests provide an inside look at the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There are some important things to take into consideration about this panel. Generally, Marvel doesn’t live-stream the panel, so only those lucky enough (and willing to sleep overnight on the floor at the convention) are going to get in to see all of the announcements. However, whatever information is revealed, usually anything of importance, is shared online through official channels, though not every clip or teaser is necessarily released instantly. So it can be a bit hit-and-miss.

Also, Disney is hosting a major event, D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, in Anaheim just a couple of weeks later on August 9th, which will include a Studio Showcase at the Honda Center, where more announcements and reveals will be made. However, it’s only scheduled to be two hours long and includes Disney’s other studios like Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, Pixar and Disney, so I suspect Marvel will hold some of its new reveals for that presentation to make some headlines, too.

Marvel is also holding a special one-hour presentation on Saturday, 10th August, on the Premiere Stage at D23, where it will be talking about some upcoming Disney+ Marvel animated shows, “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, “Eyes of Wakanda”, future seasons of What If…?, X-Men ’97, and more! So I could easily see Marvel holding back details on those shows for D23, rather than revealing much at SDCC, though maybe they might treat those in attendance to a sizzle reel as a preview of these new shows.

I also feel that, with both San Diego Comic-Con and D23, fans are likely going to be slightly disappointed with the number of reveals compared to previous years, as Marvel Studios is drastically reducing the amount of shows and films it makes to try to save money and also reduce superhero fatigue. There have been lots of delays from the pandemic and Hollywood strikes, resulting in many of the shows and films set to arrive on our screens over the next two years, which were originally already going to be released by now.

Also, the Hall H panel is currently only scheduled for an hour, though it could be longer! This drastically limits how many announcements could be made, since by the time there are some introductions, some interactions with some of the stars and creators, plus sizzle reels, clips and trailers, an hour isn’t that long!

So here are my Marvel Hall H Predictions:

Deadpool & Wolverine

Over the weekend that San Diego Comic-Con is taking place, Marvel is releasing “Deadpool & Wolverine” in cinemas around the world. This is a perfect opportunity for Marvel to create more buzz for the film, with possible appearances by Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. Plus, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s confirmed we will see these characters returning in another movie like “Avengers: Secret Wars” or another sequel.

Wonder-Man

This project reminds me of the “Werewolf By Night” Special Presentation, as Disney hasn’t officially said anything about this project by a little throwaway line on a recent official Marvel podcast. We’ve got no logo, no description, no cast reveal. This Disney+ series has already wrapped filming, so they could very easily bring the cast out to officially reveal the show and show a teaser to those in attendance. I suspect this will arrive on Disney+ in 2025, maybe 2026.

Vision Quest

This is the only new project I could see revealed, either at SDCC or D23, where Disney will confirm this is a new Disney+ series for 2026, which will continue the story of White Vision, after the events of “WandaVision”, which could also tie in with “Agatha All Along” and “Wonder Man”. Marvel is likely going to need one or two major new announcements, so this feels like one that’s been floating around the internet for months.

Captain America: Brave New World

The next big movie release from Marvel Studios is “Captain America: Brave New World”. The first teaser trailer has already been released this week ahead of these events, showing us how, after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red. I suspect we will see the cast hit the stage, and those in attendance will get to see an extended trailer or clip from the film.

Agatha All Along

Since this Disney+ show will be the next Marvel Studios project to arrive after SDCC and D23, I can’t imagine Marvel isn’t going to use these events to promote its upcoming show, which focuses on Kathryn Hahn’s character, Agatha Harkness, from the acclaimed Marvel Studios’ series “WandaVision,” as she sets off on a dangerous, mysterious adventure filled with trials and tribulations.

Thunderbolts

Next summer’s big Marvel film has recently wrapped filming, so this makes it much easier for Marvel to show fans in attendance a clip or sizzle from the movie. It just makes sense for Marvel to bring the cast out onto the stage to promote this film and get audiences excited for this adventure that will include David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S.Agent, and Florence Pugh returning as Yelena Belova.

Fantastic Four

Earlier this year, Marvel revealed the cast for the film: Pedro Pascal as the brilliant and elastic Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as the powerful Susan Storm (The Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the clobberin’ Ben Grimm (The Thing) and Joseph Quinn as the charismatic hot head Johnny Storm (The Human Torch). Kevin Feige has recently revealed that filming is due to begin on this movie the week after SDCC, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the team are assembled on the stage before jumping on a flight to London the next day to begin filming on Monday!

Currently, “Fantastic Four” is scheduled to hit cinemas this time next year, which seems a bit rushed, so I also wouldn’t be surprised if its revealed that this movie is going to slide back to November 2025 or even 2026, to give them a little longer to make it and that “Blade” is also getting bumped back again!

Ironheart

This Disney+ series was initially announced back at the Investor Day in 2020 and has already wrapped filming. The Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who has created the most advanced suit of armour since Iron Man. This series is due to arrive on Disney+ in 2025, so I could easily see those in attendance getting to see a preview of the series and to have Marvel reconfirm this is actually coming.

Daredevil: Born Again

This new Disney+ series is a revival of the Netflix series, which will see Charlie Cox return as Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio will return as Kingpin. Filming has already wrapped up the first season, and it is currently scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in March 2025, so I also expect to see the cast hit the stage to reveal a first look at the show to those in attendance, though I could also see this being held back for D23.

An Update On Phase Six

One of the cornerstones revealed at Marvel Studios’ iconic Hall H presentations is Kevin Feige’s presentation of the timeline for the upcoming releases, and I can’t imagine we aren’t going to get an updated version showcasing what’s coming out over the next few years as Marvel looks to wrap up the Multiverse Saga.

With so many delays and with a general reduction in the amount of content being released, plus the continuous problem of getting “Blade” made and Kang actor Jonathan Major’s conviction, I think we will get a clear outline of what is coming out over the next two to three years.

Marvel Studios Hall H Predictions For San Diego Comic Con! (8)

I’m not expecting any talk beyond “Avengers: Secret Wars,” i.e., like “X-Men,” which was teased years ago. Marvel fans have suffered from too many broken promises over the last few years, and Marvel needs to be able to uphold its promises.

As you can see from the images from the Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, had they kept to their original plan, phase six would be coming to a close next year. Instead, “Avengers: Secret Wars” is now scheduled to arrive in May 2027, almost two years later than initially announced. This is a major reason why I suspect we aren’t going to see too many major new announcements because the last timeline has slipped so much; Marvel needs to just focus on things actually coming out over the next year or so.

Marvel Studios Hall H Predictions For San Diego Comic Con! (9)

There are a few of these projects I could see potentially held back from SDCC to instead be a focus during the D23 Studio Showcase in August, especially the Disney+ shows.

I know many Marvel fans get very excited for the Hall H presentations, since they’ve traditionally been when Marvel has announced lots of major new shows and films, but as you can see from last year’s presentation slides. They are over a years behind schedule, and with the amount of shows and films being released each year reduced, I don’t see anything major being revealed.

Those in attendance at Hall H are no doubt going to have a fantastic showcase, with lots of big Marvel stars taking to the stage, with plenty of preview clips and sizzle reels to get hyped over. But my expectations are very low right now.

What do you think will be revealed during the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con? Let me know on social media!
